I remember growing up my main goal was to be old enough to walk to the local tattoo parlor which was situated about 2 miles from my middle class neighborhood. And when I finally turned 12 I dubbed myself old enough to make the journey. I spent a lot of time hanging out with those tattooist. My mom would say that all the time I spent with them is what triggered me to get inked in the first place, but it was just the opposite. I had known I wanted ink for what then seemed like forever. So my journey to the shop was a long awaited one.
Back then, we only had Buzzards nest. Yep, a guy named Buzzard who ran a shop that sat right next door to a happening night club. I can fondly remember sitting on the stoop at Buzzards nest just being happy with life. While my dad had always been a judgmental person who had a lot to say about people who covered themselves in tattoos, just like with every other opinion my parents shared with me of the world and all of those in it, I went out to seek the truth for myself.
I met bikers who would question why I was there, where were my parents, how did I get all the way up here? But never did one of them ever make an ungentlemanly moves towards me. Indeed they seemed to understand, and on occasion when the rebel in me kicked up and I ran away. These same guys would shelter me, which still encouraging me to enjoy my childhood, to quit screwing up so much.
One of those guys was named Hooter. When I was around 12 I remember how he would begrudgingly let me into his apartment and share conversations with me. But what I could never forget nor ignore was the brotherhood that all these guys shared. And even though I was their little wandering pain in the ass, I know they would have never let anyone hurt me without the person who hurt me jeopardizing their very life.
So I wanted to share some tattoos of some good guys. These guys I know personally, and also know that beneath their extremely fine exteriors, there are men who have far more on their plates than what may appear.

Well I guess I may not be the best one to go to for a generalize idea since I am so partial to tattoos on both sexes. But there are a few places on a man that I think most women do enjoy seeing and may find as quite a surprise on a man they have known but not seen their ink before. So listen up men! I would hope that no one would get a tattoo JUST to impress the ladies, but if you are going to take the tumble into the entrancing world of skin art, here are a few places and angles a woman enjoys looking at.
The shoulder and the top of the arm. This is NOT the bicep tattoo. This is BETTER. I won’t say all, or even most, but a good amount of women would agree with me that the top of the shoulder is a very sensual place for a man OR a woman!
The back shoulders! This again is not just on the back, but high up on the rear part of the shoulder as well.

Then last but not least is the belly tattoo. Yep, ladies who love tattoos can seriously appreciate a fine piece of skin art laying on a fine six pack any day. And who the hell else would I show but a wonderful friend of mine. Dave Batista. I’ve always told him there is just SOMETHING about that celestial sun circling his navel that is wildly incredible!!

Statistics have shown that American acceptance of the art of tattooing has grown by over 10% in the last 80 years. If this doesn’t sound like much to you this is the difference in an average of 6% or about 10 million Americans in 1936 up to 16% in a survey recorded in a 2003 Harris Poll. Numbers shown are nearly tripled. With an estimated 20,000 + tattoo studios running in the United States alone, finding the perfect place for your skin art is no longer a problem as it once was.
On the internet these days. One of the top three ranking generalized search engine queries are regarding tattoos in some manner. In July of he year 2002 internet rankings showed tattoos coming in at number 2 on search engines. This says incredible amounts for the overall popularity of tatttoos in this day and age of advanced technology.
How Do Tattoos Make You Feel?
It will come as a slight surprise to realize that 34% of those with tattoos say that their tattoos make them feel sexy! More women then men may say this, but at the same time many men have said that a female having a tattoo has made them more attractive to them. Up to 29% of people with tattoos said that their skin art makes them feel rebellious and only 5% of skin art enthusiast claim that their tattoos make them feel more intelligent.
How Often Do People Regret Getting Their Tattoos?
A large majority of tattooed Americans do not regret their lifelong decisions on their skin art. But 17% do express some regrets in their choices. Odd surveys have shown that those who regret their tattoos the most are tattooed Republicans at 24% and Americans living in Southern States at 21%. Well, HMMM, I’d love to say more, but there is no room for political or stereotypical arguments here! The largest regretted type of tattoo in these instances were occasions when someone had a persons name or initials tattooed into their skin.
Believe it or not there is a lot of methodology used in figuring out these statistics. Honestly as a lover of skin art of all varieties I am just glad to know that at least if some of our scientist are willing to spend years testing how ketchup ages in petri dishes, there are other scientist willing to get to the bottom of why Republicans with ex girlfriends names tattooed on them suffer the most regrets!

So it has become common for celebrities to sport their own skin ink in the last 20 years. Something I of course, was happy to see slowly become more acceptable over the past few years. So for the sake of getting to the point, lets get to the point with some fairly private information on some lesser known celebrity tattoos!
Allen Iverson
Allen has several tattoos. From his early beginnings where he was seen to sport at least one piece of skin art, his collection has definitely grown and quickly. At one point Iverson explained to an interviewer that his tattoo of the head of a soldier represented his harsh early beginnings in life and his battle to reach beyond that. He attributes the likeness of a soldier to himself for making it alive and safe to stardom.
Johnny Depp
Johnny Depp has 13 tattoos total. Each and everyone of them of course has deep meaning to him. Johnny who is known to be an introspective actor who does not covet celebrity status OR being called the sexiest man alive, several times! Johnny has several tattoos including his daughters name, Lily-Rose tattooed right above his heart.
Nicole Richie
Well as much as I love to enjoy watching starlets screw up (don’t kill me for saying it just because you won’t!) I must say I have enjoyed watching Nicole Richie straighten her mess of a life up, and pronto. She seems to have grasped the concept of adulthood and motherhood as well as some pretty fine taste in Skin art. Nicole is thought to have 9 and a half (?) tattoos! With a rosary on her left ankle and foot as well as some tiny delicate angel wings on her back. She seems to have taken the soft approach with her skin art as well.
With many celebrities these days having no fear in adorning themselves with their own personal skin art, I continue to look forward to some of the best creations money can buy!

Of course there are a lot of famous people who are tattooed. But for me, I’ve seen so much ink in my relatively short lifetime that I really need to see something that wows me to actually sit up and give it its due attention. So while I hesitate to give so much face time to one famous person, I think this girl has come up with some really impressive and unique ideas in the concept of tattoos. There are places we normally think of when we think to get a reasonable tattoo. The bicep the ankle or the back. Yeah those seem pretty common. But where else can you think would be a place to put a tattoo where it can be seen by most and make them stop and go, “Wow, now that is a cool place to put a tattoo!” So here I go, I’m going to give Rhianna some serious props on her choices in rare and unusual places to put tattoos, and that the tattoos themselves in their placements are really incredibly unique.

Well indeed I do think this is sort of unique. Not to mention a sexy way to highlight the feminine slope of a shoulder. Not being sure what these roman numerals represent and honestly not worried about it. Just happy that a lady has a lady like tattoo that is above the chest area! I’d love to hear from someone who can focus on those roman numerals long enough to tell me what year or number it represents! Big tattoo fan, writing fan even, horrible at math and all that involves it!

Love the flow of this tattoo. Again, this is one of those hand tats that made me stop and go wow! that’s in a pretty cool place that actually follows the natural contour of the skins normal heights and depths.

Yeah, I can’t lie. Actually wish like hell I had thought about this tattoo when my kids were young. This would have been MUCH more well taken than the oldie but goody EVIL EYE that I used on my kids.

Again! Deliciously sensual place for a tattoo for a lady in my opinion. I wouldn’t much envy the process though, feet can be VERY sensitive!!

Although I am not a huge fan of tattoo’s above the neck on myself, I can certainly see the merit in this lovely piece that she has. Again I think there is a beauty to this tattoo that has to do with following the re-creating the natural curves, ebbs and flows in a females body.
Well I can’t say it enough for Rhianna. The girl has excellent taste or whomever advised her on tattoo content and placement did. She sure does seem to corner the market on places a woman can get a tattoo and add to her sensuality. Of course this is coming from me, I find tattoos on women to be very sexy, but even saying so, most of them do not have the natural and earthy flow that Rhianna’s seem to have. Often, aside from the obvious, a tattoo can be on the skin of a man or a woman regardless of its content, but for Rhianna’s, only a woman could pull those off, even if you changed the content to skulls and cross bones, as long as you stuck to these ultra curvaceous lines, you would still have some incredible unique skin art.
