When you think of flower tattoos, don’t think about the stereotypes attached to flowers in real life. As much as any guy would challenge the manhood of a guy caught with flowers, those stereotypes come crashing down when it’s inked into the skin. Studies vary, but the amount of guys with flower tattoos almost rivals the amount of girls with them. Especially with roses.
Why is this? Flower tattoos embody so much more then just a nice smell and pretty colors. Hawaiian tattoos symbolize faith in God. Roses symbolize everything from pure love to friendship to death and darkness (black roses). Lotus denotes purity, sunflowers loyalty, daisies innocence, cherry blossoms transience of life, and hibiscus consumed by delicate beauty. From here, different shades of each flower fine tune the meaning even more.
It’s because of the meaning of flower tattoos that keep them carved into guys just as much as girls, because let’s face it, which guy hasn’t been consumed by a girl’s beauty at some point in his life? Moments like these are sometimes best reflected on the skin, and what better way to do it then with a flower.
