2 Somewhat stunning rose tattoos, both completely different in style and creative in their own way. Although one is a work in progress, I still feel like it’s worth sharing with people. This concludes the first set of 10 tattoos by tattoo artist Mirek vel Stotker.

Make sure you give some love to which ever one you like more below…

I’ve never seen a tattoo like this grapmophone neck tattoo. It pays homage to old school music, playing right into the ear in an almost ipod like way. Just an interesting tattoo, placed on the neck for all to see.

I don’t know why, but any tattoo that has flesh peeling away to reveal an inner robot/machine/mechanical device is awesome to me. Although Mario Delgado’s flesh rip tattoo is pretty bad ass as well (where you see a dude’s bones and insides), I’m just all about flesh ripping away to expose something crazy.

I’m a big fan of decorative tattoos, even more so when there’s some thought put behind it. This tattoo design revisits an early 20th century style called art nouveau and incorporates lilies and an interesting body placement. It’s something most people wouldn’t get when glancing at this tattoo, but definitely helps the appreciation of it.

A leopard skin half sleeve, nice detail, good color. Makes me propose the question, is this tattoo art? Let me know what you think. I honestly can’t make up my mind. And it’s not because I don’t like leopards either…

This tattoo by Mirek vel Stotker is called surreal tattoo. It appears to be influenced by Van Gogh, with a more modern twist incorporating a playboy bunny with an hourglass waist (no metaphor there, huh?). The open hand in the background gives another element to consider. Lot up for interpretation in what I consider a piece of modern art.

I wish I knew more behind this mechanical frog tattoo. All I found from a google search was the picture the tattoo was sketched from. Pretty decent job of making ink out of it. Still leaves me wanting more. Comment if you know anything about this strange mechanical frog…

Which spider tattoo do you like more?

Mirek’s cross spider tattoo.

Check out the details in the legs, as well as the use of the different colors. I know all-black spiders are bad-ass, but mixing the white in makes this one tangible, and kind of creepy.

OR…

Cobalt blue tarantula tattoo.

This tattoo looks like its walking right off the skin. Again the white mixed in gives it a style other tattoo don’t have.

Mirek does a lot of interesting work with flowers, adding a lot of vibrant colors to make them pop, so much so you might want to pick them off someone’s skin. This one I choose because of it’s lack of color, the good stuff is in the details of this kiku (Japanese Chrysanthemum) tattoo. To make a flower tattoo interesting without a ton of color is a challenging thing to do.
