It is getting closer and closer to Christmas, and I thought it would be nice to look at some holiday tattoos. I personally love Christmas. It is a time to share meals with family and friends, and give each other gifts. There are also a lot of things that remind us of Christmas.
When I think of the Christmas Season, one of the things I definitely think of is the nicely decorated tree in the living room, with all the lights and decorations that I have collected over the years. My parents use to give me an ornament a year for Christmas so that I could collect the memories and put them on the tree.
I am sure most people know the story by Dr. Seuss, about the Grinch that stole Christmas, and how in the end he learned what Christmas was all about. I think that is an important lesson for everyone to learn around this time of year.
Many of us learned the about Santa Clause when we were children. He brings presents to all the good little children when they are asleep on Christmas Eve. I was told the truth about Santa Clause at age 5 and went and told my whole kindergarten class the truth that I had just learned. Needless to say, a lot of angry parents called my parents the next day.
You can’t forget about mistletoe around the holidays. Kissing underneath the mistletoe is a classic holiday thing to do, although I have as of yet never gotten the chance to do this. Maybe this year.
Happy holidays everyone. Enjoy your good food, great time with friends and family, and of course the presents. I know that this year will be especially special for me and my family.

Now it is time to make your mouth water with the wonderful world of food. I am not quite sure why people would tattoo food on their bodies, but it is amusing non the less.
This is what all boys and girls dream of getting on their body…a cupcake on the potty. This might actually be a great way to potty train sugar high kids. It is kind of a cute tattoo but not something I would ever put on myself.
The best way to honor your favorite restaurant is to tattoo it on your body. It is either in honor of or it is so you remember where to go the next time you get really hungry. This person even put their favorite meal on the tattoo. Almost makes me hungry.
This looks like it was a really delicious burger. Too bad someone took a bite out of it. This is definitely a great way to save your leftovers. Personally I would have asked for it without the cheese.
This is by far my favorite, yet ridiculous food art. One way to save the memory of your favorite breakfast is to tattoo it on your bald head. I do not really understand the true purpose of making such a public statement that is food related, but I guess if you really love your Sunday breakfast then this is the way to go.
I have learned from the experience of seeing a lot of tattoos that if you really wanted to you can find tattoos of pretty much anything.

All through high school and even into my early adult life, I have had a thing for butterflies. I am not sure exactly what draws me to them. It is possible that to me they represent being carefree, they live life to the fullest, and they are light and airy. It is quite possible that they represent all the things that I so desperately long to achieve in my lifetime: peace, tranquility, and a carefree attitude.
I really love this one. I have never seen one like it. If I were ever to get a tattoo done, this might be one that I would consider. It is such a majestic tiger on the wings of a butterfly.
This is another tattoo that I find very unique. If I look at it once you see a butterfly. Looking at it a second time I can see two bird heads facing each other. Although I would never get this one done myself, I really like it. I even love the detail; it looks so light and feathery.
Now this one is really neat, although it is hard to tell if it is really a tattoo someone has. I am not sure I have seen real tattoos with such a bright color scheme. This woman could possibly go to the beach half naked and get away with it. I love the colors and the design but it is not a place that I would get a tattoo. Looks too painful.
To finish it off, we have the butterfly lady. I honestly believe she is covered completely from head to toe in butterflies, although we cannot see her entire body. It makes me wonder if she got them done all at one time or if some were done one day and others another. All I can really say to this one is wow. This is truly an amazing display of butterfly tattoos.
Butterflies represent so many things. I may not have a butterfly tattoo, but if I did it would represent all of the things that I hope to achieve as well as the person I hope to be one day. For now I will be content looking at other people’s butterfly tattoos.

I was in a weird mood and so I thought about the craziest thing I could think of for tattoos. Sure enough I came up with tattoos that look like holes. I am not really sure why people would want to have extra holes in their body that are not even real, but for some reason they do.
Yep this is exactly what I need, another hole in my head. I am not quite sure why anyone would want to look like they got beat up every single day. They may think it makes them look cool to look like they get in all kinds of fights, but to me it says “Hey, I am weak, because I get beat up severly every single day.” Either that or they are clumsy and keep falling down the stairs.
Ah yes, the classic “I have an alien living inside of me that is trying to get out” tattoo. All I can think is gross. That picture is a little hard to handle if you look at it too long. Yep that is definitely a tattoo I will not be getting for myself any time soon. However, I have to say whoever did the tattoo did a really amazing job with the details.
Here is another example of holey tattoo work. Again not one I would personally choose to get done, but it does look pretty realistic. This man must be very resilient to have that many bleeding gunshot wounds and still be alive. I can only imagine what a time a coroner would have finding the cause of death when this gentleman finally does kick the bucket.
Wow, now this is very clever placement of a tattoo over a belly button. I would almost consider getting something like that as a temporary practical joke tattoo. What a mischievous little monkey!
As is evident, people get all kinds of different tattoos for different reasons. For some people tattoos of physical injury are appealing. Others like to be silly with people and animal tattoos showing their rear ends.

Okay so I am biased. What can I say? Scotland is the land of my ancestors, including my not-long-passed-from-this-earth-Granny. She was a spitfire, all 90 lbs of her, and her Scottish brogue was music to my ears. Well obviously I am not the only lover of all things Scottish. Some of them even have it inked into their skin!
Great likeness of Mel Gibson as William Wallace. However, for the record, it is highly unlikely that the real William Wallace looked much like Mel at all.
This is a Scottish Lion tattoo and the most elaborate and huge I’ve ever seen. The Scottish lion symbol is an ancient one.
I’ve always thought there was something noble in the simplicity of the Scottish flag.
Scottish pride is always great to see! Apparently this Scot also has some fondness for the Welsh symbol as well.
Another take on the scottish lion. This one with a twist of the Wales symbol by showing it to the side!
All in all those who sport tattoos of their home countries are only doing so to show a sense of pride in their heritage. This has always been of great interest to me and whenever I see a tattoo that seems to show ancestral interest, I always enjoy asking the wearer about their ink. You should too!

Okay so lets say the most common of the animal tattoos are usually, dogs, cats, all of the big cats such as lions, tigers and leopards. But what about some of the other animals that we rarely see in permanent ink?

Wow so I guess most of us have some kind of monkey on our back. But probably not one with this much clarity. Great monkey, really.

This is a fantastic Rhino. I ‘think’ its getting eaten by piranha, or large mouth bass, either way its a great piece of ink.

I believe an octopus likely ranks high on the list of animals uncommonly inked. This is incredible work, even down to the little suckers!!
And this serious vegan had a cow inked on her!

A fox, pretty cool idea, and pretty cool ink!

Personally I am not a fan of bugs. With this years stink bug infestation and having two inside dogs who have managed to carry fleas in latelty, I have a downright wholesome dislike of them it is fair to say.But some are enamored of them enough to get them permanently inked into their skin. So why? Because of the creepy factor? Are all bugs indeed, creepy? I suppose the best way to find out is to look for ourselves.

Hm! Maybe not creepy, but entirely angry. This bee is pissed. I already have to mow the yard because my husband is deathly allergic. This will not help me to feel more secure on my last mowing trip for the season.

Dragonfly. Okay, this I can deal with. It doesn’t mean I want one landing on me, or infesting my house. But this bug doesn’t bug me as much as others.

This bug, whatever it is, is inherently evil. I want no part of trying to figure out what it is or why it is ripping open the skin.

This bug tattoo is actually pretty fine work. Pretty fine work, but still a BUG!

Well Ive seen plenty of lady bug tattoos. But I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Very unique idea although I’m almost sure there is some kind of bad juju involved with stomping lady bugs.

I like ear tattoos. I don’t have one yet. Not even sure I ever will. But I seriously do like them. They add a bit of whimsical attitude in my opinion. And the things a good artist can do with the cartilage differences can also be incredible!
Cute, feminine and a nice accessory!
Actually behind the ear but this is a new perspective for me too. This one I may consider getting very soon! Lovely work.
I do love this angry little skull. The neckbones leading into the ear canal are novel too. This skull looks annoyed to be stuck in such a place. Although I would LOVE to see this in another 40 years when all the white hair growing out of this ear will add a whole new perspective to why this skull is angry.
This one is lovely as well. Also a great idea for ladies like me who cannot wear cheap jewelry due to allergies to metals! This is a permanent accessory I could live with!

These tattoos will be rated r either because of where they are located or by design itself. So please, if your children are nearby and you do not want them to see graphic nudity or photos of select body parts inappropriate for them to gaze upon, just have them leave the room. Or wait until later, some of these scarred even me for Pete’s sake!

Wow, great art, great tata’s, great picture! Actually I do love the flow of this tattoo and the route it takes around the breast… much like a sexy bra!
[picture]
Hey! Way to utilize that centerpiece! Good idea, but this looks pretty painful. Anyone have a tattoo on the nipple that can tell me if it hurts worse then other sensitive places? If so please let me know!
[picture]
Actually pretty nice work, though the two ‘themes’ don’t go together. That takes major points away in my opinion.
[picture]
Wow and Ow. Way to stretch your ‘assets’ to their limits.

Hah! Actually pretty good work, but no elephants trunk is that long. Guys are ALWAYS exaggerating things!
[picture]
This is pretty cute!
Okay so maybe some of these are over the top for even YOU! (The smiley on the end of elephant boy disturbs me) But for whatever reason these people chose these particular locations, the artistic value in most of these tattoos is still pretty incredible. Not to mention some amazing pain tolerance.

Okay so not every one has a candy fetish, but some of the below tattoos are indeed encouraging me to run out and get some of these delectable candy treats.

Oh MY, cupcakes, lollipops, is that a freakin’ bubble pop? And M&Ms. Astounding eye candy!!

Salt Water Taffy?

I want this cupcake!!!
So regardless of what kind of pastries you desire to ink permanently just about all of them could inspire the munchies in just about all of us!!
