No, I don’t mean tattoos kids get. As much as I like skin art I do not think its a decision a young child should be able to make for themselves. However, loads of parents for many years now have made a habit of having a photograph or a moment in their child’s life permanently inked on their skin. These tributes to their children are always some of their favored lifelong pieces.
I love this kid! He looks like he has a mohawk and the Gene Simmons tongue pose is priceless on his little face!
Three pretty incredible kid faces. However, who the hell still puts those giant sailor caps on their kids head. I don’t know a kid who wouldn’t rip that off pronto.Much less be caught posing in it.
Love the color added to this. Seriously good lifelike likeness and the coloring ads a taste of the abstract I can appreciate.
And last but not least this kid kinda rocks. Not sure why this great piece of art includes a purple and red bicycle, but tis a great piece nonetheless.

Yea, its post three under unusual tattoos. However, I simply can’t stop myself. Some of these are complete train wrecks of course, and we all know how hard those are to look away from. And then some of them of course also can even make a tried and true skin art junkie like me stop and think and ponder the actual reasons behind them. So here is a look at some unusual art that I have not covered in past post!
Well okay! I can’t believe I haven’t had this one up but there it is. Really dudes? Come on. This is why children are taught to be scared of people with tattoos. How very unhelpful to the cause in my opinion!
Crap. This is a good tattoo. But I really can’t stand to look at it any longer. Ow, wow, yuck.
Wow, pretty good likeness of Hawkins….Great really! But still….nuff said.
Tooth tattoos. What the hell. Not just no but hell no. I love ink, but an ink gun on my teeth is still considered drilling to me.
Yeah I loved my tapes too. However, now I love my CD’s.
So not all art is sunk in ink, and some art will never sink in the minds of those who do not have them themselves.

So why do people have tattoos that they inevitably end up regretting? Well some of those tattoos are due to impulse and a lot of them are due to intoxication. For that reason alone make yourself a lifelong promise that no matter how many times you think, ‘I’m still pretty sober’, then you are not sober enough. Just don’t do it. Tattoos should really be planned a lot longer then it takes to see a great one and decide you already know where you are going to put yours and how you will alter it and where is the closest shop???

And whether you regret the tattoo because it may resemble something that you realize could cause you trouble later in life, or just because you put it in a place you would rather there be clear skin, regrets do happen.

I guess its also quite possible that even when some of us that are inked see ink on someone that we are sure they must regret, maybe they don’t.

This IS real by the way, and I can only hope the amount they paid her to put that there comes with the insane fees it is going to cost to have it removed.

And then again, there are always those, we all have at least one friend, who likes to help us continuosly relish in memories we would all rather forget.

I had no idea until a couple of years that there were so many people who wanted to do this. I can understand hidden tattoos for sure, I have a couple myself that will rarely if ever be seen to anyone. But still. there are also some famous people who have these tattoos as well. So lets get a good look at some of the best lip tattoos around!

K well I love the hell out of this one! So cute!

Well neato to say the very least!

I have no idea…

Again, no idea. Just what the hell is this anyway?

Aww love. So adorable!

Indeed!

Indeed?

Blurry but yet again more love! So lovely!

Not sure this message is location appropriate but hey, great message.

Great place to hide this message in my opinion!

Sure maybe head tattoos aren’t quite as popular in the U.S. as they may be in other countries, but they are popular nonetheless. Although usually they are only found on men occasionally a wild child female, probably a redhead, will shave their head and go for broke on some skin art for their skull. Here are a few incredible skull tattoos I have found around the net.
It may be unnatural how much I truly love this tattoo. If I had to give it a con though it would be the web work, no need for that, the skull clusters alone kicked sweet ass!

I’m telling you guys, if I knew one day I had a chance in hell at being an old bald dude, I’d be planning that tattoo right now.

Wow, not hard to figure out whats on her mind often is it? Pun deeply and genuinely intended.

Great colors for a bio mech!

Yes I know the term scary can be a bit broad, but there are some things that are in general considered scary. In the spirit of Halloween I have found a few very scary tattoos. These tattoos are absolutely the stuff of that reoccurring hideous dream you have been having since you were ten.

Can I get an exorcism on isle one please?

Good art. And fairly scary. Love the way the corners on the pentagram were blended!

Really, aside from a clown with a smiley face, is anything more disturbing then a scowling pumpkin? And this one is on fire!

CRIPES. This is some incredible work too. The detail in the eyes of Nosferatu reminds me why this story scared the hell out of most people. Seriously, those eyes are luminous. Not sure I’ve ever seen such deep and startling realism in eyes!

Well, I suppose not everyone loves fruit or fruit tattoos, but they are almost always vibrant and bring back memories of childhood for me(Maybe I should eat better!). Regardless, I don’t think anyone hates looking at fruit. So let us check out some famous fruits in permanent ink!

Well, nice spread really. Those grapes look wonderful!

This cherry tattoo is freakin fantastic in my opinion. The blossoms behind them give this such a soft appealing look!

My mother always told me that if you can’t say something that wouldn’t make a sailor blush than you probably shouldn’t say anything at all. Oh to be a fly with a sarcastic sense of humor on the wall in that shop when this was requested. However, the artwork on the banana itself is excellent. And the banana is at a perfect ripeness. Okay I better stop!

So here we are again trying to mash out the top 50 so at number 21 we have the Bald Eagle. A great eagle tattoo can inspire immense patriotism. This tat in particular is at least outside of the back piece or bicep box.

The Crown tattoo comes in at 22 and what an immense example this one is!

Not your average sun tattoo but a sun tattoo nonetheless.

Had no idea that anchor tattoos would rank so high on the list, so I went out of my way to find one that was deserving. This one definably is. I love the detailing down to the lines in the roping and the threads trailing off from the top.

This Egyptian symbol is also very commonly tattooed around the world. The Ankh ranks in at number 25.

Barbed wire is still ever popular for a wrap around tattoo. I chose this one because it was particularly large and infinitely more painful looking then the usual.

An OM tattoo helps to balance out the inner chakra, or something, what this one does is just sit there looking like a damn fine piece of skin art.
Ozzy would be proud to know that the bat tattoo comes in at number 28.

The swallow tattoo has a bit of popularity too. Some of the designs I’ve seen offer incredible colors and different techniques.

And last but not least comes number 30 on the list of top 50 most popular tattoos is the spider. Not my favorite item to have inked but again, some incredible designs can always change your mind about perspectives sometimes. This may be one of them. This looks insanely realistic to me.

So here we are at the second set of the top 50 tattoos. We left off at number 10 and so bringing up the rear from ten is the Lion tattoo. Whenever I think of lion tattoos I think of this one lady I seen when I was younger that came in and got inked with three of the worlds largest cats. When asked why she chose the design, she replied that They represented her three sons. One was a Leo and a proud young guy fierce and courageous as Leos are known to be, one was a cheetah and a track star who had made his way through a business degree in college with his running speeds, and that the last of her sons was the panther the dark and broody child who held an air of mystery. And I thought, well damn, isn’t that a kick ass novel idea way to represent your family!

Lion King indeed! This is an awesome work of skin art!
The Celtic knot can come in just about any shape, but most commonly they are rounded.
Kanji tattoos are also a big hit, these Chinese letters leave a meaning up to discussion for most of their owners. Often they are the only ones who know the meaning!
Another wow art piece. I really love when artist utilize curves in the body as natural arches and shadows. Tiger tattoos comes in at number 14!
Roses come in at number 15 and what a fine example of some great roses in skin art. These look like they have fresh dew on them!
Nah this isn’t exactly a COMMON h1eart tattoo. But than its a damn good alteration of the common valentines day heart that is popular in skin art and in at number 16.
To bad I couldn’t have seen her face on the bad parts here. Incredibly innovative tattoo using the breast as scales. Unfortunately it also makes me wonder how heavy the weight of justice will become in time
Great skull tattoo. Creepy realistic eyes.
Flowers come in at number 19 on the top 50 list of popular skin art.
Pin up girls have been a very long time popular iconic tattoo. In recent years women have been just as fanatic about them as the men who love to look at them!

I suppose I have always enjoyed a good flaming tattoo too. Not exactly a pyro but having a comfortable affinity with fire (as well as having flaming red hair) has always given me a genuine liking for flames in skin art.

A Phoenix! Pretty cool, never considered this option for flames and skin art. But this is a pretty wild and unique idea!

Glow in the dark ink! UV ink its called. This is a really kick ass idea. Well, except if you ever have the need to be incognito in the dark.
This is pretty wild and some good art. I like the fact that there is little black work in the flame work which is fairly unusual for colored ink!
