Now it is time to make your mouth water with the wonderful world of food. I am not quite sure why people would tattoo food on their bodies, but it is amusing non the less.

This is what all boys and girls dream of getting on their body…a cupcake on the potty. This might actually be a great way to potty train sugar high kids. It is kind of a cute tattoo but not something I would ever put on myself.

The best way to honor your favorite restaurant is to tattoo it  on your body. It is either in honor of or it is so you remember where to go the next time you get really hungry. This person even put their favorite meal on the tattoo. Almost makes me hungry.

This looks like it was a really delicious burger. Too bad someone took a bite out of it. This is definitely a great way to save your leftovers.  Personally I would have asked for it without the cheese.

This is by far my favorite, yet ridiculous food art. One way to save the memory of your favorite breakfast is to tattoo it on your bald head. I do not really understand the true purpose of making such a public statement that is food related, but I guess if you really love your Sunday breakfast then this is the way to go.

I have learned from the experience of seeing a lot of tattoos that if you really wanted to you can find tattoos of pretty much anything.

I was in a weird mood and so I thought about the craziest thing I could think of for tattoos. Sure enough I came up with tattoos that look like holes. I am not really sure why people would want to have extra holes in their body that are not even real, but for some reason they do.

Yep this is exactly what I need, another hole in my head. I am not quite sure why anyone would want to look like they got beat up every single day. They may think it makes them look cool to look like they get in all kinds of fights, but to me it says “Hey, I am weak, because I get beat up severly every single day.” Either that or they are clumsy and keep falling down the stairs.

Ah yes, the classic “I have an alien living inside of me that is trying to get out” tattoo. All I can think is gross. That picture is a little hard to handle if you look at it too long. Yep that is definitely a tattoo I will not be getting for myself any time soon. However, I have to say whoever did  the tattoo did a really amazing job with the details.

Here is another example of holey tattoo work. Again not one I would personally choose to get done, but it does look pretty realistic. This man must be very resilient to have that many bleeding gunshot wounds and still be alive. I can only imagine what a time  a coroner would have finding the cause of death when this gentleman finally does kick the bucket.

Wow, now this is very clever placement of a tattoo over a belly button. I would almost consider getting something like that as a temporary practical joke tattoo. What a mischievous little monkey!

As is evident, people get all kinds of different tattoos for different reasons. For some people tattoos of physical injury are appealing. Others like to be silly with  people and animal tattoos showing their rear ends.

Yea, its post three under unusual tattoos. However, I simply can’t stop myself. Some of these are complete train wrecks of course, and we all know how hard those are to look away from. And then some of them of course also can even make a tried and true skin art junkie like me stop and think and ponder the actual reasons behind them. So here is a look at some unusual art that I have not covered in past post!

Well okay! I can’t believe I haven’t had this one up but there it is. Really dudes? Come on. This is why children are taught to be scared of people with tattoos. How very unhelpful to the cause in my opinion!

Crap. This is a good tattoo. But I really can’t stand to look at it any longer. Ow, wow, yuck.

Wow, pretty good likeness of Hawkins….Great really! But still….nuff said.

Tooth tattoos. What the hell. Not just no but hell no. I love ink, but an ink gun on my teeth is still considered drilling to me.

Yeah I loved my tapes too. However, now I love my CD’s.

So not all art is sunk in ink, and some art will never sink in the minds of those who do not have them themselves.

So why do people have tattoos that they inevitably end up regretting? Well some of those tattoos are due to impulse and a lot of them are due to intoxication. For that reason alone make yourself a lifelong promise that no matter how many times you think, ‘I’m still pretty sober’, then you are not sober enough. Just don’t do it. Tattoos should really be planned a lot longer then it takes to see a great one and decide you already know where you are going to put yours and how you will alter it and where is the closest shop???

And whether you regret the tattoo because it may resemble something that you realize could cause you trouble later in life, or just because you put it in a place you would rather there be clear skin, regrets do happen.

I guess its also quite possible that even when some of us that are inked see ink on someone that we are sure they must regret, maybe they don’t.

This IS real by the way, and I can only hope the amount they paid her to put that there comes with the insane fees it is going to cost to have it removed.

And then again, there are always those, we all have at least one friend, who likes to help us continuosly relish in memories we would all rather forget.

Sure maybe head tattoos aren’t quite as popular in the U.S. as they may be in other countries, but they are popular nonetheless. Although usually they are only found on men occasionally a wild child female, probably a redhead, will shave their head and go for broke on some skin art for their skull. Here are a few incredible skull tattoos I have found around the net.

It may be unnatural how much I truly love this tattoo. If I had to give it a con though it would be the web work, no need for that, the skull clusters alone kicked sweet ass!

I’m telling you guys, if I knew one day I had a chance in hell at being an old bald dude, I’d be planning that tattoo right now.

Wow, not hard to figure out whats on her mind often is it? Pun deeply and genuinely intended.

Great colors for a bio mech!

Yes I know the term scary can be a bit broad, but there are some things that are in general considered scary. In the spirit of Halloween I have found a few very scary tattoos. These tattoos are absolutely the stuff of that reoccurring hideous dream you have been having since you were ten.

Can I get an exorcism on isle one please?

Good art. And fairly scary. Love the way the corners on the pentagram were blended!

Really, aside from a clown with a smiley face, is anything more disturbing then a scowling pumpkin? And this one is on fire!

CRIPES. This is some incredible work too. The detail in the eyes of Nosferatu reminds me why this story scared the hell out of most people. Seriously, those eyes are luminous. Not sure I’ve ever seen such deep and startling realism in eyes!

Well, I suppose not everyone loves fruit or fruit tattoos, but they are almost always vibrant and bring back memories of childhood for me(Maybe I should eat better!). Regardless, I don’t think anyone hates looking at fruit. So let us check out some famous fruits in permanent ink!

Well, nice spread really. Those grapes look wonderful!

This cherry tattoo is freakin fantastic in my opinion. The blossoms behind them give this such a soft appealing look!

My mother always told me that if you can’t say something that wouldn’t make a sailor blush than you probably shouldn’t say anything at all. Oh to be a fly with a sarcastic sense of humor on the wall in that shop when this was requested. However, the artwork on the banana itself is excellent. And the banana is at a perfect ripeness. Okay I better stop!

All this hype about tattoos; celebrities flaunting new ones every day and people discussing their weird and whacko tattoos at water coolers. Ever wonder when and how it all started? Not the hype, I mean, but tattoos as an art form, and as an essential part of our creative history.

Early Tattoos from the Gods and Goddesses

http://www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com/Tattooed+Man+Geoff+Ostling+Donate+Skin+Art+2tAktmJwB_bl.jpgThe beginning of tattooing can be traced as early as Ancient Egypt around 2000 B.C. Female mummies have been uncovered with tattoos that match the patterns etched on figurines from the same period, some associated with the Goddess Hathor.

African tribes used to routinely scar parts of the body for ritual and identification purposes. These ritual cicatrices, or raised scars, would then be filled in with dark dyes extracted from plant sources. All male children of the Monomotapa (tribal leader) would be scarred with whorls of raised flesh on their cheeks, foreheads, and arms to identify them as the future tribe leaders.

In Japan, tattoos flourished during the Jomon, Yayoi and Kofun periods. Throughout the Yayoi period, 300 B.C. – 300 A.D., men in Japan and China decorated their faces and bodies to ward off serpents and evil forces and spirits. Native Americans were well known for their tattoos. In the ancient world, tattoos were used not just to identify people, but also to punish them! There were some interesting tattoo-based punishments on offer then.

In Europe, tattooing was an expensive art form, very elitist, and out of reach to the common people. Royalty such as King George V, Grand Duke Alexis of Russia and King Harold bore tattoos. Early Americans followed the European elitist response to tattoos.

World War Skin Arthttp://dogandponyshowwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/450Patriotic_Face_WAEVE101_808672804072008.jpg

During World War II, sailors and soldiers displayed their allegiances through body art. They bore names of their units, ships and divisions proudly. Tattoo shops were located on docks and near military bases and tattooing flourished. (Though I do doubt many of them were as patriotic as the shown face tattoo guy here)

The introduction of the electric tattoo gun caused the prices to drop and tattooing to be accessible to everyone. Everyone started getting tattoos; the Hippie movement of the 70’s brought flower power to stay in the form of colorful tattoos.

In India, lasting temporary body art is practiced using Henna, the green paste extract of a particular leaf. Women decorate their hands, feet and faces with intricate designs using this paste, which, when washed off, leaves behind delicate tracings in bright red.

Yes, you might elicit many a shocked gasp when you walk in flashing that bright tattoo on your collarbone, but now you know enough about our tattoo-beginnings to tell the gaspers you’re only following tradition! Surely, they can’t argue that point?

Everybody out there is getting a tattoo. With so many designs and possible layouts, it’s confusing as hell. Do you want to one of the millions out there with the same kind of tattoo? Alternatively, do you want something that’s uniquely you, as some celebrities have dared to be?http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/103022.jpg

Many people compete for the best designs, and some people come up with their own designs to avoid having the same tattoo that someone else already has. How do you design your own tattoos?

Let’s start at the basics. A tattoo is an expression, in art form, of your personality. Many tattoo parlors categorize their design albums based on personality types. Delicate tattoos, power tattoos, tribal tattoos, chopper tattoos – the list is endless. Again, these are designs that are made by someone and for sure, someone else out there has it already.

Come up with your own tattoo! Don’t just get the face of your beloved inked on your shoulder. Dig into your roots, find out more about your family, listen to your dreams, and understand what makes you unique.

Decide on a unique placement for your tattoo! A tattoo doesn’t become unique based only on its design. The execution forms a huge part of its appeal. Always wanted to be an outlaw? How about getting a gun tattooed to your belly, and make it look like it’s stuck into your jeans, just ready to be pulled out?

Then there’s this ‘way to go’ slap tattoo on this girl’s ass cheek. Honestly, I’m wary of what this will resemble when shes an 80 year old grandmother, but for now, its damn nifty! Some unique designs can seem to be a tad extreme, but they represent unique creativeness anyway.http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bCh-gAJte7Y/Sfb-Ejc3SWI/AAAAAAAAARc/rguaJgyrghE/s400/Slapstick.jpg
