Okay so not every one has a candy fetish, but some of the below tattoos are indeed encouraging me to run out and get some of these delectable candy treats.

Oh MY, cupcakes, lollipops, is that a freakin’ bubble pop? And M&Ms. Astounding eye candy!!

Salt Water Taffy?

I want this cupcake!!!
So regardless of what kind of pastries you desire to ink permanently just about all of them could inspire the munchies in just about all of us!!

So what are some of the questions a person considering their first tattoo have?
Notoriously the main question is “Does it hurt?”
Yes it hurts you wussy! Kidding (a little bit) , getting a tattoo does hurt. But it hurts less and for less time then a skinned knee or a stubbed toe. Some people liken it to having a razor blade run across their skin. Some people even claim it tickles (most likely it won’t tickle) so maybe you shouldn’t take their advice either. Its not like a dentist visit, and it damned sure doesn’t hurt as bad as, let’s say, a punch in the face. The closest I can liken it to is the feeling you would get if a friend with sharp finger nails accidentally poked you, for hours. Now, that certainly would be annoying, but on the pain scale, very minor.
How do I choose what to get?
The thing is, you should never ask anyone this. Now, if you want to bounce your ideas off of a good friend, I say go for it, but never let the choices of another influence your decision. If someone says, ‘If I were you, I’d get ____.” Just rest assured you should never get ___. That would only represent your friends taste and not yours.
Everyone has something they feel an affinity with. This is a good place to start when choosing your first design. Do you have a thing for doves? Have you always collected ceramic
dragons? Perhaps there is just SOMETHING about the peony blossom that strikes peace into your very soul. These are the things you should be considering when you are pondering your first work of ink.
Thinking about getting a tattoo to commemorate your undying love for your boyfriend? Think deeper. Instead of plastering their name on you, why don’t you think of something you both have an affinity for. Perhaps you enjoy Mayan history. Get a Mayan symbol on you that represents love. Or get a picture of what the first sunrise you spent together looks like. Those things can symbolize to the two of you your bond, without bonding you for life to each other should, uhm, well you know where I am going here.
The Final Decision
No matter how long you have thought about your first tattoo. If you are headed to the parlor and are having second thoughts. TURN AROUND. NEVER get a tattoo if you have ONE single little doubt. Any tattoo enthusiast, you know, the people you ask “Hey, ever regret getting that tattoo?” The ones that say no, MEAN IT, and that is simply because they never had one iota of a doubt when they sat in that chair. If you have one, do not get one.

Ah, love. It makes the world go ’round doesn’t it. Maybe a little bit? Okay well love for a lot of skin art aficionados is one of their favorite things to express in skin ink. Some love their Moms
in eternal skin art, some express their love for days gone by…
While yet some just take the chance to express their undying love for bacon.
Regardless of what you love enough to put on your body forever, take the time to check out some of those most incredible love tattoos around. Come up with your own, be original! Don’t love bacon THAT much? Well there are other options.
I can appreciate the artistic value here too as well as the sentiment. This is a lovely idea for sharing a tattoo with someone you love deeply!

Not great picture quality, but this is certainly a unique way to express your love of music!
Got a little French in you? Want some on you? This is a lovely piece though I assume that hairy arm means its on a man, which make the frilly vine work prove that this man is secure in his masculinity, or that this is a woman with very furry arms.

Okay I’ll openly admit I am a clown hater. Maybe hate is a strong word but that is better than admitting they just creep me out, scare me in an old Poltergeist kind of way. I haven’t felt the same about clowns since that movie. So. with ICP’s popularity, those creepier clowns became more and more popular. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the sad looking clowns either, don’t trust them. But it is the smiling ones that truly freak me out. However, I can still appreciate the artistic value in a good clown tattoo.

Okay well this doesn’t help me fear clowns less but this is one bad ass clown tattoo.

Old school clown. Perhaps not as creepy and still very incredible work in my opinion!

A break through clown gets 5 stars on the creepy meter for me.

I’ve had nightmares that looked a lot like this. But this is some seriously incredible work for total blackwork. Absolutely!!

Although hand tattoos are still largely frowned upon this doesn’t stop ink lovers from having their hands inked. Some very gorgeous art has come from some great hand tattoos but again, dependent upon your job and your location regionally, hand tattoos may not be as acceptable as you would hope.
Women tend to keep their hand tattoos relatively small though they do have an occasional elegant hand tattoo that climbs into a forearm tattoo. Men for the most part only receive hand tattoos as extensions of forearm tattoos or full sleeves.
So while having a hand tattoo may be restricted by your job in particular, perhaps one day when you are your own boss you will be able to finally get that hand tattoo you have been dying for all of those years you were stuck in the position of not being able to get inked to avoid conflict with jobs, home or even a significant other.

So here we are again trying to mash out the top 50 so at number 21 we have the Bald Eagle. A great eagle tattoo can inspire immense patriotism. This tat in particular is at least outside of the back piece or bicep box.

The Crown tattoo comes in at 22 and what an immense example this one is!

Not your average sun tattoo but a sun tattoo nonetheless.

Had no idea that anchor tattoos would rank so high on the list, so I went out of my way to find one that was deserving. This one definably is. I love the detailing down to the lines in the roping and the threads trailing off from the top.

This Egyptian symbol is also very commonly tattooed around the world. The Ankh ranks in at number 25.

Barbed wire is still ever popular for a wrap around tattoo. I chose this one because it was particularly large and infinitely more painful looking then the usual.

An OM tattoo helps to balance out the inner chakra, or something, what this one does is just sit there looking like a damn fine piece of skin art.
Ozzy would be proud to know that the bat tattoo comes in at number 28.

The swallow tattoo has a bit of popularity too. Some of the designs I’ve seen offer incredible colors and different techniques.

And last but not least comes number 30 on the list of top 50 most popular tattoos is the spider. Not my favorite item to have inked but again, some incredible designs can always change your mind about perspectives sometimes. This may be one of them. This looks insanely realistic to me.

I have been looking for quite a few very feminine pieces for a post and think I have found just the remedy I needed for my skin ink fix in this department. Although I am loathe to admit that some art is definitely ladies only it is just a fact. However, those pieces that were created with women in mind are also some of the greatest pieces of skin art I have laid my eyes on in many years of repeatedly laying my eyes on tattoos.
This is absolutely one of my favs. The cherry blossom remains a ladies only (mostly) tattoo these days and it is clear to see by looking here exactly why. The colors and tones on this lovely tree scream lady to me.
The butterfly is always a top ladies choice in skin ink but it takes a special one to get my attention. The simplicity here is what I enjoy over the colors or location regardless.
This is an incredibly sensual tattoo. But then, by now if you know me you will know that I am thoroughly impressed by artist who utilize the natural curves of the female body to create these impressive works of art.

Something about most ankle tattoos is very sexy to me. Even a foot tattoo on a guy can be yummy if placed right. So here are some of the best tattoos I can find that reflect my love of a good and sensual ankle tattoo!
This one looks fairly real too. Love rose tattoos that have that added sheen.
Unique male ankle tattoo. Love the biomech look and I am not sure of many ideas men could get away with on this place that is most commonly tattooed only by women!
Nice. The ankle to foot design. I love these and am glad to see them becoming more and more popular.
Lovely work. I seriously love the new colors in this day and age. If only mine were this vibrant sooo many years ago when I began getting inked!

So here we are at the second set of the top 50 tattoos. We left off at number 10 and so bringing up the rear from ten is the Lion tattoo. Whenever I think of lion tattoos I think of this one lady I seen when I was younger that came in and got inked with three of the worlds largest cats. When asked why she chose the design, she replied that They represented her three sons. One was a Leo and a proud young guy fierce and courageous as Leos are known to be, one was a cheetah and a track star who had made his way through a business degree in college with his running speeds, and that the last of her sons was the panther the dark and broody child who held an air of mystery. And I thought, well damn, isn’t that a kick ass novel idea way to represent your family!

Lion King indeed! This is an awesome work of skin art!
The Celtic knot can come in just about any shape, but most commonly they are rounded.
Kanji tattoos are also a big hit, these Chinese letters leave a meaning up to discussion for most of their owners. Often they are the only ones who know the meaning!
Another wow art piece. I really love when artist utilize curves in the body as natural arches and shadows. Tiger tattoos comes in at number 14!
Roses come in at number 15 and what a fine example of some great roses in skin art. These look like they have fresh dew on them!
Nah this isn’t exactly a COMMON h1eart tattoo. But than its a damn good alteration of the common valentines day heart that is popular in skin art and in at number 16.
To bad I couldn’t have seen her face on the bad parts here. Incredibly innovative tattoo using the breast as scales. Unfortunately it also makes me wonder how heavy the weight of justice will become in time
Great skull tattoo. Creepy realistic eyes.
Flowers come in at number 19 on the top 50 list of popular skin art.
Pin up girls have been a very long time popular iconic tattoo. In recent years women have been just as fanatic about them as the men who love to look at them!
